Copenhagen Fashion Week Fall 2025: The Nordic Vanguard

Before we hit the “big four” of fashion month, the stylish set is heading to Copenhagen for a taste of what’s new in Nordic fashion. CPHFW has been on the rise over the past few years thanks to homegrown names like Rotate, Baum und Pferdgarten, and Filippa K—and they’re all returning for another runway romp this season. Other brands taking part include Icelandic outerwear label 66°North, Opérasport, Forza Collective, Anne Sofie Madsen, and Han Kjøbenhavn, the last of which is opening its show to the public and expecting up to 3,000 guests.

Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is no longer just a stopover on the fashion circuit—it’s a destination. This season, the Fall 2025 showcase cements its status as a formidable player in the global fashion scene, merging its rich cultural heritage with an innovative, sustainability-driven approach. With a lineup blending rising stars and industry veterans, CPHFW is proving that Nordic fashion is more than a fleeting trend—it’s a movement.

A Regional Renaissance

What sets Copenhagen apart from the other major fashion capitals? A keen eye for minimalism, functionality, and an unshakeable commitment to sustainability. Like previous seasons, CPHFW’s sustainability requirements remain in place, and all brands on the calendar must comply. The initiative was recently adopted by the British Fashion Council for its NewGen program, proving Copenhagen’s influence in the fashion space. Fall 2025 sees designers embracing their Nordic roots while pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion. “It’s about creating something that speaks to where we come from, but also where we’re going,” shares a CPHFW insider. The collections this season balance stark, elemental landscapes with urban practicality, weaving together storytelling and innovation in a way that feels distinctly Scandinavian.

Collaborations to Watch

Among the standout partnerships this season is the unexpected yet harmonious collaboration between streetwear brand ALIS and avant-garde designer Tobias Birk Nielsen. This fusion of rugged skate culture and conceptual, almost dystopian aesthetics promises to deliver a collection that is as functional as it is forward-thinking.

Meanwhile, Swedish brand COMMM SWDN takes a bold leap into womenswear, proving that the label’s gender-fluid approach extends beyond menswear staples. The expansion underscores a growing movement in Nordic fashion—one that rejects limitations and embraces fluidity in both form and identity.

And let’s not forget Iceland’s 66°North, a brand that has perfected the art of merging extreme-weather functionality with sleek, urban appeal. Their latest collection is expected to embody the raw power of Icelandic nature, reinforcing the region’s influence on performance-driven fashion.

The Nordic Ethos in a Globalized World

Copenhagen has always been an important incubator for emerging designers, so it’s no surprise that this season is also filled with new names including Alis, the former skate brand relaunching as a streetwear label, and Astrid Andersen’s Stel. The CPHFW New Talent program will also bring Bonnetje—a label known for women’s tailoring—as well as Stamm, Alectra Rothschild/Masculina, and Berner Kuhl into the spotlight. The week will begin with a breakfast hosted by Ganni and CPHFW, celebrating these debuts (though Ganni is once again opting to show in March in Paris). Stine Goya will cap off the festivities, meanwhile, staging its show at the end of the week at the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg, almost 200 miles outside Copenhagen.

Copenhagen’s ability to remain rooted in its heritage while appealing to an international audience is what makes it so compelling. The Fall 2025 season reaffirms that Nordic fashion isn’t about following trends—it’s about setting them. With a commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and cultural authenticity, CPHFW is not just showcasing clothes; it’s shaping the future of fashion.

CPHFW is a much smaller operation than New York, London, Paris, or Milan, with only 27 shows and eight presentations on the schedule, but you still won’t want to miss one look that comes out of the Danish city. So, keep checking back here often as we update you on our favorite fashion moments from the week.

As the lights dim and the final looks make their way down the runway, one thing is clear: Copenhagen Fashion Week is no longer a well-kept industry secret—it’s the next global fashion powerhouse.
